2019 Catherine et Pierre Breton 'Nuits d'Ivresse' Cabernet Franc - Bourgueil, Loire Valley, France (750ml)

Nuits d’Ivresse “Drunken Nights” is made from a special cuvée of organic old vine Cabernet Franc – coincidentally called Cabernet Breton locally– from top clay and limestone sites in Bourgueil. The grapes ferment with the skins for three weeks before malolactic fermentation in neutral barrels, and are barrel aged for eighteen months before bottling. This is a chiseled, precise medium bodied wine with incredible minerality and herbaceousness, firm tannins, a hint of damp soil and barnyard, and notes of peak summer cherries and raspberries. Pairs beautifully with roast rabbit leg with thyme.
