2019 Bencze Autochthon - Hungary (750ml)

Article number: 750ml

Named for the Greek word for aboriginal or native, this white blend is made from three varietals native to the Carpathian Basin in Hungary: Furmint, Hárslevelű, and Kéknyelű. Half of the Hárslevelű grapes see 8 days of skin contact, while the rest of the grapes are pressed and fermented in amphorae, and aged on the lees for 9 months. The wine is tangy, medium bodied with notes of citrus peel and a hint of sherry salinity. Pairs well with Halászlé (Hungarian Fisherman’s Soup prepared with white fish and Paprika).
