This amazing value, unique wine from the obscure Malvar grape combines the acidity of Sauvignon Blanc, the body of an unoaked Chard and the melony flavors of Chenin Blanc. Planted in 1950, the vineyards are old vine, dry farmed and head pruned in the traditional manner. Fermentation and aging occur in stainless steel and cement so there’s no oak influence. Fragrant tropical and floral aromatics lead to a medium-bodied palate with beautiful fruit and ginger notes followed by a crisp, mineral-driven finish. Great on its own, it also pairs well with shrimp or squid in garlic sauce.
