From Puglia’s shallow red soil and calcareous rock, this lovely wine is made with 100% Verdeca, an obscure varietal indigenous to Southern Italy. Aged for a month in stainless steel tank after fermentation, it then spends 3 months in bottle before being released while still young and precocious. The result is an enticingly aromatic wine that shines for its freshness and acidity. The nose offers notes of white flower and grapefruit peel followed by lively flavors of citrus and passion fruit and a nice mineral note on the finish. Refreshing with fritto misto and a wonderful accompaniment to a healthy garden salad or lighter cheeses.
