Les Cessieux vineyard in St Joseph was passed down from Beatrice’s grandfather but had been leased out for 25 years until 2013. Since then, it has become the crown jewel of the Souhauts' Domaine.  Harvested by hand and vinified naturally, this deep, dark, medium-plus bodied 100% Syrah is made in an exuberant, even hedonistic style that showcases ripe, black cherry flavors, alongside gamey and violet notes yielding to a long, dry, moderately tannic finish. A rare combination of finesse and power, Les Cessieux just begs to be savored with a rosemary rack of lamb, roasted fingerling potatoes and mint jelly.
