Ventozela is a blend of 60% Loureiro, 20% Arinto, and 20% Treixadura, all native to Minho. Harvested by hand, the wine undergoes a cool, pre-fermentation maceration before the grapes are pressed and fermented. It’s then aged in stainless steel tanks for just 3 months, resulting in a fresh, crisp, light wine with a subtle spritz and a dash or herbaceousness. At a solid 13% alcohol, it’s more similar to a classic white than a typical Vinho Verde. Try this with portuguese spiced clams or creamy rice with cod or shrimp.
