Planted on decomposed granite and limestone at the base of Jack’s Hill, in the northeastern corner of Salinas Valley, this cool climate Chardonnay is beautifully balanced and elegant. The owner and winemaker, Ian Brand, known for his progressive approaches to plantings and commitment to organic farming, practices sustainable viticulture. Whole clusters are pressed and are aged for 5 months in partial french oak barrels, and stainless steel tanks. Partial malolactic fermentation occurs during this process. This Chablis like Chardonnay has clean and delicate aromas of pear and lemon rind that lead into crisp flavors of grapefruit, nectarine and a hint of sea salt. Try this wine with a hearty pork and potato stew or at your next picnic!
