Named after winemaker Joe Pendicini’s grandmother, who taught him how to produce minimal-intervention, earnest wines, this pinot noir from the Willamette Valley is a lush and wild expression of the region. The grapes are harvested by hand and age for a year in neutral oak before bottling. Brambly, dark fruit (think blackberries and dark cherries) tumble out of the glass, followed by wisps of smoke and black pepper, finishing with elegant, silky tannins. Drink with Poulet à la Forestière – chicken poached in a creamy mushroom sauce.
