This incredible blend of Savagnin and Chardonnay comes from some of Ganevat’s oldest (80+ years) and most prized estate vines. It is a great example of Jura’s incredible potential. Hand harvested and de-stemmed, the grapes undergo a long fermentation that lasts a few weeks prior to aging in demi-muids (600L cask) for a minimum of two years. The wine is regularly topped off via the method locally known as ‘ouille’ with prevents excessive oxidation while adding vigor to the wine. The nose opens up with elegant aromas of white flowers and ripe stone fruit. The palate is generous and expansive with some citrus peel, tangy and mineral notes. A rare and exceptional white with both power and finesse, Oregane pairs incredibly well with sautéed scallops, sashimi or bouillabaisse.
