Gerard Dupuy practices ancestral vinification methods that were passed down by his great-grandfather. Taken from a time before the introduction of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, the Dupuy Family has scorned modern intrusions into their winemaking. Instead they have a harmonious ecosystem with its own natural balance. This wine is a right bank Bordeaux blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc and 5% Cabernet. Full bodied and fragrant, with lots of dark fruit on the palate, elegant yet firm tannins with a slight herbaceous note. A classic steak wine, this pairs wonderfully with medium-rare NY Strip but can also stand up to an Elk steak, or a strong gamey cheese like Epoisses.
