A blend of Grenache, Viura and Tempranillo – deep salmon in color, smooth, dry and a great spring BBQ wine.
2007 Can Blau, Montsant – $19
A Carignan, Syrah, Grenache blend from Montsant in southern Catalonia, just outside the more prestigious and more expensive Priorat region. Inky ruby/purple color and deep, ripe fruit with a delicious mineral finish.
2004 Vinas del Cenit Tempranillo, Villanueva de Campean, Zamora – $34
Rich, smokey cherry, chocolate and espresso notes. Dusty tannins and good acid with a big finish from very old vines. Ageworthy.
